Time Table

Yes, the technology in the world has evolved so much that you can now ask your table the time. Designer, Ross McBride, has done a great job with this piece. Its helpful to those who require light at 12:89 at night. You can even set alarms on this thing and turn off the light when your not using it. This is exactly what we need, multitasking products!

Club Chair

I love this chair design. It incorporate two types of designs, furniture and lighting in such a creative way. Its very intriguing. Its fun to see different ideas entering the market which inspired others to innovate as well. The illumination aspect really stuns me. The plan was great and nicely executed. A crucial part of being a designer is to try out new things, methods and materials, and Designer, Martha Sturdy, has done that wonderfully by experimenting with Resin.

Tong Lamps

These are tong lamps designed by Takashi Sato, a designer based in Tokyo. This lamp is refereed to as a tong lamp, because of the visible bend that it has when it gets to the head, which helps hold the bulb. The object succeeds in being a lamp as it as features of a tong.

Kasara - Chair Design By Aloke Pillai

This is a chair designed by me. I was working on some concepts and I have reached this as a final end result. The revisions took a lot of time and I am very proud to present this to you.

Many things inspired me to design this, some of which include the modernism and the minimalism period. I was also very intrigued by the invention of chairs without legs. this challenged me to think differently.

I have goals of taking this design into a bench form by the joining of multiple chairs. This concept would be perfect in malls, airports of any kind of space that would accommodate large numbers of people.

Please let me know what you think of this design. I would love to get your feedback.

Mosaik - Johan Celsing

This lovely piece was designed by Johan Celsing, from Garnas. Johan has really based this piece from a minimal sense and I seem to get vibes from a Asian oriental inspiration that he used. The unique backboard reminds me of the rice paper walls used in China. Any type of light would be able to soak through the back and make it blend with any kind of environment.

Amia - A Great Design Story

This is a great video showing the design process of these designers who made such a wonderful chair design. I personally take designers for granted and I expect to see amazing designs being born into society everyday because of "technology". Well I realize now that technology can only do so much, we need to think differently and take natural concepts we see everyday like the bug and the cognac that the designers talked about. This is a really inspirational video which will make you feel like exploring nature and the things we have in the world and to observe them a little bit more to get those amazing revolutionary ideas out.

Let me know what you think of the video.

Follo the Waves

This design is amazing to look at. Designer Will MacCormac has made this wash basin that keeps consistency with the whole design. He has done a great job at blending the surface to a bend for the water to be disposed.

Thanks Will!

5 Beautiful Modern Chair Designs

Sitting in style is really important and if you too believe that, these 5 great chair designs may tickle your fancy.

1.Egg Chair - Ecko Chair

This futuristic beauty was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958. It was originally designed for the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. You can get the chair for $717.

2.Flor Chair

Next, we have the Flor chair which is the typical chair that you see the in the Jetsons household. The design is very beautiful and adds a splash of color where your junk rests. It costs $349. It has the Panton chair feel to it as well, especially the upper body. If you don't know what the Panton chair is, its number 3!

3. Panton Chair

This is the chair that represent the the modernism period because of its originality. It shocked many people as many thought that furniture was just robotic things without feelings. Verner Panton proved them wrong with this amazing design that appreciates and accents the human form. You can get this chair for $167.

4. Jane lounge chair

Number 4! We have this amazing lounge chair shaped like a relaxed figure. The chair really knows how to use curvature to add that modern spice to the equation. In my opinion, it takes some features from the Egg Chair we saw in the beginning. For the Jane Chair, you are gonna have to fork up $1157.

No Jane Included.

5.Oxidental lounge chair

This dormant beast is something to sit on to get your testosterone pumped. The form is very elegant and looks proud. Again, this is another great example of chairs taking feelings into account. This beauty was designed by Hans Wegner. Its gonna run you $1087.

That concludes this post. Check back in for some other great roundups. Let me know what you think of the blog so far. Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions, or anything you want.
