The Ending and a Beginning

I am sad to announce this, I am shutting down the blog as I have another project to take care off. I have been trying to manage both, but I can't anymore. I have started my own webcomic. Please take a look and post your comments there. I had a lot of fun finding these amazing designs, and I hope you had fun too.

Time Table

Yes, the technology in the world has evolved so much that you can now ask your table the time. Designer, Ross McBride, has done a great job with this piece. Its helpful to those who require light at 12:89 at night. You can even set alarms on this thing and turn off the light when your not using it. This is exactly what we need, multitasking products!

Club Chair

I love this chair design. It incorporate two types of designs, furniture and lighting in such a creative way. Its very intriguing. Its fun to see different ideas entering the market which inspired others to innovate as well. The illumination aspect really stuns me. The plan was great and nicely executed. A crucial part of being a designer is to try out new things, methods and materials, and Designer, Martha Sturdy, has done that wonderfully by experimenting with Resin.

Omnia i900 Phone Ad!

Wow, Samsung is brilliant! You won't believe that the first few seconds is an ad, but the special effects used after will definitely put a smile on your face. They have done it in such a manner that it may be looked upon as a normal Youtube Video. Finally, they use amazing and creative ways to advertise and promote their products. Kudos to Samsung to embrace the Youtube generation!

These are amazing Alejandro Ingelmo High Top Tip Sneakers and a beauty to look at. The color choices are fresh and exciting and adds a great unique touch to the shoes. The metallic look really shines and stand out.

New Look

Yep! Breath that Freshness in! I absolutely love the new look. I can't get my eyes off it! I can't believe that even drink companies are going web 2.0. If you look at the old strategy, the design looks all over the place and it looks more like a design for a water theme park rather than a refreshing cool drink. The new one captures the essence of refreshing by using more rounded designs and really rich colors. The gradient work would really be prominent on the cans and bottle because of the rich color of the product. I wish the company best of luck because they have realized their mistake and rectified it, so Kudos, guys! Great work!

Sit Lamp - Fiona Thomson

This lamp is so innovative and artistic. It has so many deeper meanings and it has been executed nicely. The lamp was designed by Fiona Thomson and her inspiration was based on the 19th century forms. I like this design for the simplicity and the message it shows. It put a smile on my face for sure!

Dirtsurfer Freestyle

This is a really cool design. I was very intrigued when I first saw it. Its for those extreme sports addicts, because its faster than a skateboard with the balance of a bike. I love the design of it. They made the design have distinct features of both the bike and skateboard in such a way that it compliments both and gives it a new look and interesting feel. Get attention with this bad boy for $450.

Professional napkin

Were you ever at a dinner party and wanted to look classy? Well I have the napkin for you! This may be the most simplest design ever but its genius! I love the simplicity. It shows your professionalism, while at the same time, shows your fun side.

Zazzle's New Logo Not So Dazzling!

In case you didn't notice, Zazzle, the marketplace that sell customizable good like shoes, ties etc. has changed their branding strategy. The logo is supposed to attract the modern market with its "hip" features as the Creative director mentions it. I must say that it looks too bold for a marketplace, while I love the new web design. I feel like they tried too hard to communicate with the audience while totally mistaking them. I kinda miss the old Zazzle feel of the logo as it was easier to absorb and remember with the great spacing and a really brandable mark.

As I mentioned before, I do like the website design. I think the pages were taken very well taken into consideration for the planning of the content. I liked how they have really transformed it into more of a community rather than just a marketplace. Clean and simple, but at the same time, I will miss the star dazzling among the letters.

NASA Concept Car

This concept car was created by two industrial design students, Marek Kedzierski and Michal Vlček. The car main objective was to have the ability to easily turn 360 degrees without reversing and to move sideways without turning. I think that these were great goals set by these students and their hard work and created a great possibility for the future.

Pritt and Micheal C. Place

This is an ad for Pritt, a company that makes correction utensils for writing and so on. The ad follows Micheal C. Place, an artist, creating art with the Pritt products.

They have done a great job at following a traditional artist and his creative process.

Bubble Wrap Calender

Are you tired of marking your calender down with a marker? well you don't have to in this new age. You can just pop them, which is more fun. You can get this calender for $29 which replaces old boring boxes into bubble wrap bubbles.

G-Shock Madness

Casio's back with amazing fresh colors for their G-Shock brand. The colors are bright and have varied high and low contrasting colors, making them amazingly flashy.

Tong Lamps

These are tong lamps designed by Takashi Sato, a designer based in Tokyo. This lamp is refereed to as a tong lamp, because of the visible bend that it has when it gets to the head, which helps hold the bulb. The object succeeds in being a lamp as it as features of a tong.

Kasara - Chair Design By Aloke Pillai

This is a chair designed by me. I was working on some concepts and I have reached this as a final end result. The revisions took a lot of time and I am very proud to present this to you.

Many things inspired me to design this, some of which include the modernism and the minimalism period. I was also very intrigued by the invention of chairs without legs. this challenged me to think differently.

I have goals of taking this design into a bench form by the joining of multiple chairs. This concept would be perfect in malls, airports of any kind of space that would accommodate large numbers of people.

Mosaik - Johan Celsing

This lovely piece was designed by Johan Celsing, from Garnas. Johan has really based this piece from a minimal sense and I seem to get vibes from a Asian oriental inspiration that he used. The unique backboard reminds me of the rice paper walls used in China. Any type of light would be able to soak through the back and make it blend with any kind of environment.

Gold and Green Dixie La Rue

Here is Adam Wallacavage's chandelier. Yes, in fact it does look like an octopus. It has a really old antique and royal feel to it. I love the intricate details and the oval shape in the middle that gives off a diffused glow.

Xavier Lust's Urban Design

The Design Studio, Xavier Lust, has come up with a great urban design for locking up your bicycles. They have really revisited the old, boring design and revamped it with a unique idea.

I really love the slots for the wheels and the look of a bus stop area with the roof.

Monza

This concept car was designed by Iman Maghsoudi of the Azad University, Tehran. He had won an award for the Best Overall Automotive Design. When I saw these concept images, I was very impressed because it was like a goal set for the future. It shows the quality and the creativity of the young designers. The pioneer designers of the cars we have come to love and adore have had their moment of fame and I think these great designers need the limelight now.


The aspect I love the most is the form because it truly present a revolutionary design. The best designs are the ones that are found shockingly impossible at first and I think this design just challenged a lot of people in the world.
